Hi David, make one if you can, anyone can buy a piece and revel in the glory (we all do at times) do you have a hardware store or similar? You could try the internet and look for ali stock like "I" beam or "U" sections there's lots of examples out there, just decide on the size/scale. The units in the field often manufactured them from what they could find, so a little research as to your chosen units preference might be worthwhile regards Phil

David, as Phil implied, the hull track hangar was never a production fitting on the Tiger. Units made up their own style, which is why in Kent's posting, FoA have a few options. If you're not doing a specific vehicle, you could use any of them but the channel section would be strongest. Otherwise, you'll need to look at a photo of the specific tank or unit you've chosen to get the right pattern.

I wouldn't rely on glue to retain it, given the weight of the track links. You could use countersunk set screws. Unless your up to tapping, it's probably OK to drill and glue the screws into the hull. Assuming you've used brass for the hangar, my preferred method would be to silver solder a short section of brass rod at each end and then drill and glue. That way the fixing is invisible and you can then simulate the welds at either end.

Regards

Stephen

Hi all

Thanks for the feed back from my research on PzAbt 507 I am either not fitting one or going to use a long bar thin bar.

From what I can see the crews welded it on the hull so I might see if I can drill and tap as suggested or drill through and epoxy in place.

Thanks again for your input

David
