The new build Tiger 1.
Build progress, Armortek chassis number 51 but no certificate as built from the last Tiger 131 batch with added NOS
I had one of the first from Mark and this one may be one of his last , before the new beginning of course.
The fit of the parts is sooo good now, it just falls together.
I want this build to be one of the best I have ever done, a fitting tribute to the Mark and Gill.

From today I am the proud owner of Tiger 131 No19. Thanks to Olaf to whom I'm eternaly greatfull.
Looking fordward to working on this as much as I was prior to working on the real thing last November. I was privileged enough to assist the team at Bovington Tank Museum take the engine out for its first major overhaul in six years.

You lucky bugger Steve a privilege indeed, when I was a kid my father was posted to Bovington to look after the collection, he said that I played in the tanks including 131 but I cant remember a thing!
Wether this example of mine ends up anything like 131...who knows but I will do my best to represent this iconic old lady.

Its a bit cold in the machine shop at the moment, standing there on the concrete for hours.
I would like to add the double wheel outer rim fixing bolts, would anybody have the details of the positions regards Phil.

Cold concrete floor in workshop. Put down some slatted wooden duckboards.

Thank you for that Graham, I have to build an "Ark" first with any spare wood as it wont stop raining regards Phil.

This stuff is great and it also makes it easier to find that bit that escaped.

Cold! Southern softies, I was down Bristol earlier this week and I was out in my t-shirt, it was like summer. you want to be up north to feel the real cold Winter is coming!!

I put a layer of these down on the bare concrete floor.
It's amazing the difference it makes when just standing around, plus kneeling is now no longer a pain

As they're individual, if you tear one or accidentally paint one they're easy to replace.

These are the measurements that I have taken from tiger 131, I hope they are of help to you.

The outer most wheels had 32mm nuts holding the wheels on.

The first set of double wheels had 22mm bolt heads holding the wheels on.

The next set of double wheels with the track horn guide flange had 22mm bolt heads. These bolts were in six groups of three, the centre of the bolts was about 68mm from the outside edge of the flange and about 77mm between each bolt.

Thank you very much David for info, and can I say that your build looks fantastic its going to look so real, keep up the good work and keep posting. Ooo the m3 hex bolts that we like to use so much...how far out are they in regards to the 1/1 and should there be nuts on the wheel centres and bolt heads on the rims,also did the bolts go right through the rim with a nut on the back?
It would be so convenient to able to buy a bolt with a false nut showing rather than making our own from studs.
