Hello All,
I have a couple of questions relating to the fixing of the axel and the tow bar, which I hope someone can answer.
Firstly the axel, how do you fix the axel to stop the foot pedal arms from moving. Do you just rely on the gluing of the surfaces between the axel and the side plates?
Secondly the tow bar, how do you stop the tow bar from sliding through the box, again do you rely on the glue? I had thought of inserting a pin in the tow bar that will lie flush with the outside of the front plate, which would be covered by the Armorpax weld detail.
If someone has a good solution to these queries that they are happy to share, I would be grateful.
Many thanks
Dave

Re: Limber queries
Dear all
Just a quick update. Added the Armorpax details plus some extras including a part of the safety link chain. Just need to finish the safety chain link, the wheels and the tow beam details before completing paint and weathering.
I hope you are all enjoying your builds as much as I have mine.
Best regards
Dave

Re: Limber queries
Hi Dave,
Nice paint job on your limber, thanks for flagging up some extras you have added.
I need to add some safety chain links to my own limber.
Yes it seems a long way to go if you are still to finish off your 25 pounder, like I have still to do!
Before I start my Morris C8 kit to pull the limber and 25 pdr along!
Cheers

Re: Limber queries
Good evening Ian,
Thank you for your comments. It took a while to source the chain, which I found in a box in the garage. I'm off to the Cobbaton Combat Collection in Devon tomorrow, where they have a full set i.e. 25pdr, limber and Quad, so hoping to get some good pictures.
I have been following your posts with interest and am amazed at some of the detail you have added along with the drawings. You are further forward on your 25pdr than me but I hope to complete this before the spring and then if the budget allows, and if they are still available, a quad will be next.
Best of luck with your builds
Best regards
Dave

Re: Limber queries
A beautiful model, Dave, and a great finish. Which paint have you used? It's exactly the shade I'm looking for.
Lovely work

Re: Limber queries
Good morning Dave,
Thanks of your nice comments on my limber and 25 pdr. Lot's of hours spent on those two kits!!
As for the drawings, they were fun to create too!
Yes me to, it took a while to find the right chain for my 25 pdr stowage levers. But missed out adding the safety chain you have added.
Looking forward to see your pics taken at the Cobbaton Combat Collection. I'm always on the look out to see plenty more good detailed pics on the limber, 25 pdr and Quad.
I would say I'm three quarters way along with my 25pdr gun, just need to finish off the gun shield along with any upgrades that are needed. Hoping I can get it finished by Christmas, then I can truly get on building my quad kit!
Cheers for now

Re: Limber queries
Good evening All,
Firstly, thanks for your comments Phil and to answer your question I used Tamiya TS-46(Light Sand) spray cans over U-Pol Acid#8 1K etch primer.
Secondly, some pictures from the Cobbaton Collection, one for Ian re the safety chain and four for Adrian indicating the wheels for two different Quads
Best regards
Dave
