Blank Firer operating tips

Hello

I have just about got my blank firer going, now I wish to pick peoples brains to see what tips for operation there are. On test firing with primed only cartridges, it is eratic and I want to get it firing on all cylinders. My sons are impressed, so far, and I need to demonstrate in due course the pukka cartridge, the responsibilty is huge, for it must work!
