Inside the Chieftains hatch: Panther A

Panther perverts will find these films interesting as they show the inside of the Littlefield Panther A, there are a few features of this restoration which are incorrect such as the zimmerit in the M.A.N pattern as opposed to the correct M.N.H pattern, the original turret also had a pistol port in the rear the new replacement turret does not have this feature.

A question for panther experts.
I was told that the early panther A had smoke canisters on the turret? If this is true I will ad some to the panther A that will be out next year. if you can get them in metal

Hi Russ,

No! The "Nebelkertzen am turm" was deleted in July 1943 and was only seen on early Ausf D and never on Ausf A.

Here is a link to a useful site showing the Panther developing:

Kind regards
Kent

The dates should only be used as a guide not all parts were introduced or deleted across all factories at the same instance, in numerous cases there are several months were the introduction and deletion of parts overlap.
