Hi all , I have just become the owner of a part built King Tiger . To be honest its nearly complete - but not for long .
Having followed the forum for a few months and are in awe of peoples building skills , my plan is to strip the tank back to its bare bones and do things that haven't been done (pin the suspension etc) - then super detail it . So lots of help and questions are ahead.
My background to modelling is mainly as a figure painter and use to travel to model shows all over the country. though I did build and super detail a Tamiya 1/16 King Tiger back in the mid 90s - which also got dragged around a lot of shows. Painting and weathering is my main worry - but lets be fair that's along way off.
the tank has been part painted but has not been etch primed . so a strip back and a fresh start is top of the list - though I've got a old motorbike to finish building first.
I will looking for advice and update kits .

2025 ARMORTEK KIT SURVEY
Over the last few years we have brought out a whole series of kits as a direct result of your feedback - kits like the Pershing, JagdPanther, Hetzer, Leopard 2A4, and more recently the Sd Kfz 7, 88mm Flak 36 and the upcoming Challenger 2.
So, in keeping with what has become and annual tradition, here is your opportunity to once again influence our future production plans.
We have added in some "guide pricing" next to the names of the models. This is a rough estimate of the price at the current rates.
Thanks in advance for your input and we look forward to the results.

Re: New King Tiger Owner
Welcome Peter.
Starting big I see
Rebuilds are a lot more involved than new builds, as you need to undo what the previous owner has done, and things I've found don't bear thinking about.
Good luck with the KT and keep us updated with your progress.
Adrian.
