My Dad is building the bulk of the tank in the UK NW, I'm doing the elecs/tracks in SE and we promised the original buyer to share our build progress (or otherwise).

I've laid out the electronics to try and understand what connects to what.
With the help of lots of labels I think it is sinking in. Batteries ordered.

I think I will add a switch to disable the smoke and firing unit. I can't quite picture how you reach switches when the tank is assembled though.

Still got 140 tracks to file down. Not sure the Dremel will survive to the end.

Really enjoying it.

A lot of Tigers have the switches accessible via one of the rear most engine grills, as they can be made to hinge up for access.

Get yourself a radio with plenty of channels! Then you can control such things remotely. Much more practical! The only thing you absolutely need to have on the model is the on/off button and you want that one very easily accessible for emergency cutoff.

Sam looks like a nice project. Obviously there are lots of alterations you can do to the basic kit - look through the Tiger section to get some great ideas. One thing I would check though is whether your kit came with the large collars supporting the out put shaft of the motors and attaching them to the sides of the tank. ( cant remember if the Early variant came with these) The first models did not have this improvement and it is fairly essential if you intend to do a lot of running. Good luck with the project. I have some spare parts from the early model. If anything missing let me know.
Just started another Tiger 1 myself. It will be made up of components from old and new kit types. I have almost all parts apart from wheels and suspension. These will be acquired later. I will put some details soon.

I see no family secrets here! Yes I have the motor mounts, thanks.

Workshop cleared, BSA out in the cold, so need to build a working table using the bike lift next. Sorting out all the nuts by writing on to the packets the sizes, etc.

Help please, I want to post photos as the work progresses so some advice on best size of files and how to upload multiple files/photos please.

I usually use MS Paint to reduce the size to 1024x768 pixels.

You can upload several into each message but you have to do them individually and they appear in reverse order, so the first one you upload appears at the bottom of the list.

You also need to keep returning to the upload page as it defaults away from it once you have uploaded a file.

There are "power tools" like https://imageresizer.codeplex.com/ that make it quicker to resize images to particular sizes.

Building the work bench using a hydraulic bike lift as a base.

Stage 1 - Basic Hull build. There were a few hole alignment issues but with a little adjustment it all went together well. Thanks to East Coast Armory for advice especially re the use of M4 csk skt to replace M4 hex to bolt the bottom plate to the upper hull. A couple of photos showing cutting of countersunk holes.
