Who is building 131
What I mean who will build the kit as 131. Build based on wartime photos or build based on museum vehicle. Could be a seperate category at next open day competition.
If interested in any parts used in my builds contact me at johnfitzsimons@msn.com for a price list.

Hi John, I will be employing a little artisitic licence on mine as I will have headlights fitted as if it had just rolled out of the factory.

Re: Who is building 131
Hi John, I'm building a 131 kit.
I was originally going to built it as 131 but that may change. I bought some dragon figures but none of them are in desert uniform all are black panzer uniforms.
Still early in my build so lots of time to decide.

Re: Who is building 131
Michael,
I presume 131 had lights at some stage. I think they stowed them inside when not needed or in action. Expect it ha a jack also. If you need to stock up on paint try ZibMilitaria.de
They have good sized aerosols of dark yellow base. It highlights up nicely.
I will be starting an early Tiger 1 soon but not one of the new kits. Not sure what to base it on. Either Grey or possibly kussk camo. Nice to have one without zimmerit for a change.
John, you could always save the black uniforms for the next armortek.

Re: Who is building 131
I already have the correct paint mixed to the RAL numbers. I have just used 6 cans on the primer so I got the cellulose paint mixed up at the local car paint shop and I will spray it myself. I'm sure the lights would have been there originally when captured but have been lost. I'm not after a 100% museum copy as this will be a working tank.....lots of mud out there to be discovered

It will look better with a set of steve winstones lights and jack. These would have been on it at some point.

Re: Who is building 131
Old thread that needs a little update as to who might be building one of the Tiger 131's.
I'll add my name to the list.
Tim Carr building Tiger 131 in the Tampa Bay area, Fla USA.
Anyone else building a Tiger 131 as the Thread subject line stated?
Later Tim

Re: Who is building 131
Hi All
I am building a Tiger 131, it started out as a museum 131 but the more research i do the more i think i will build it as a factory 131??
I note already the Convoy light was intact when captured but snapped off on the museum piece..
mine will most likely be a mix of both
Does anyone know if the rear deck bolts on the factory tank had the Cone shaped or the Hex head as per the museum tank ??
Regards
Andy

Re: Who is building 131
All Tiger I had the square head bolts on the engine deck, the Allen bolts that are on it now are very much post war as is the mesh covering the engine intakes, over the years original parts have been lost, stolen or broken and replaced with whatever is available some parts are original some not such as the spare links on the front which are resin cast late versions
