WW1 picture Western Front Mark IV Male

Post by Steen Vøler »

Thought I would post this rare picture taken by soldiers of the German Füsilier Regiment no. 73

As you can see its a male Mark IV

Its from a Danish book from 2012 where various pictures from WW1 taken are showed. These pictures has until 2012 been in the hidden archives as they where taken by danes (schleswig area citizens) that was drafted into WW1 on the german side.

These same danes where in WW2 not drafted into the german army, as this part of land went to be danish after WW1 after an election.

Steen -

That's nice - thanks for posting it up.

Shame there's no name / number visible. A (very !) quick Google search for Fusilier Regiment No. 73 would suggest that this was 3rd Ypres (Passchendaele) rather than Cambrai. That is also suggested by the amount of mud !

Any more tank pictures from that source ?

All the best,

Chris
