Jerry can types

I've noticed that in my collection of jerry cans, I have the usual Dragon Wehrmacht and USMC types but I also seem to have two of another type.
Thay have the same sort of X on the side as the US ones except the ends taper to a point instead of being rounded. The biggest difference is that the filler cap seems to be a clamp fit instead of a screw fit.
Are these WWII vintage or a more later design ? Or are they from a different manufacturer ?

HI Adrian
I believe the ones you are describing are also Dragon-Models. I would guess they are water cans(just a guess). They came with the same sets as the USMC ones that have the threaded cap with wire twist teather. if I remember right.
some info

Him.
Thanks for the link, that's the best info I've seen on jerry cans.
The cans I have do seem to match the picture and description in the link of a water container.

Im pretty sure the US cans with the clamp closer were for the Marine Corps.
Army gear is not good enough for the Marines. They have their own specs.

Hi Roland
Are you managing to post without problem now? Let me know if not and I will see if there is anything we can do to help.

Hi Gill, If I submit it enough times it seems to go thru. The last couple times I got it to work by the perview then submit, but I had to be quick and double click on the submit button befor it could change screens.

Hi Roland
I have checked this out with our technical people and it seems likely that your intermitant problem could possibly be due to your connection speed.
Sorry we do not beleive there is anything we can do from this end although we will of course keep monitoring the situation.
