Maybach HL230 P30

Post by Günter Gäbelein »

Hi all,

at Armortek Day in Bovington I showed the prototyp of my printed HL230 engine. The plan is to place the engine in my shop by end of the year. I hope I can finish the missing parts in the next weeks and will post pictures from the prototype engine regularly.

My plan is to have 3 categories:
- Motor with internal details (pistons, crankshaft, gears, ball bearings etc.)
- Motor without internal details
- Motor top for installation in model

Most parts will be printed in ABS. Gears, ball bearings, shafts and shrews are in metal.
Kind regards
Günter

G'day Gunter,

WOW. Great outcome. Just 1 question, what 3d printer do you use. The quality is great and considering the number of different types anyone who sees your build and is thinking of getting one could consider the one you use.
Mine is a makerbot replicator 2.

Cheers
Ray
