Changes to Web Site
In order to allow ongoing improvements to our web site we are shortly going to be moving the site to a new server.
We will try to let you know when this is going to happen however we ask for your patience while the transfer occurs.
The current forum and gallery will be retained and all passwords etc will remain unchanged.
However access to the old forum and galleries will no longer be possible and we therefore suggest that if there is any information you require that you copy this as soon as possible.

Hi Derek
Yes I am sorry for the inconvenience but apparently for technical reasons beyond my comprehension , it is not going to be possible. We are not sure of exact timescales as there are several people involved to co-ordinate this so it is not entirely in our hands. I would suggest that you copy anything you require as soon as you are able.
Best regards
Gill
P.S. I have put in an order for baseball caps!

I find myself refering to that archive quite frequently and it will be a waste of such available quality information if lost.
Is there any way that the web developers / server providers can save the data in the archive?
as most service providers provide backups of forums incase of system errors, they must be a way of writing the data to a disc (once there it can be restored onto a similar system or just sent out to people) as myself would be interested in keeping the data

The archives are where allot of information I refer to also. I am trying to download every file there, however I have found I have to download each picture individually and not just each file. If anyone has a faster method to back it up for all of us please let me know so I can stop this madness, otherwise I will send Armortek a disk set once I have completed the back up, if there is time permitting.

I'm using a spider program called WinHTTrack which is collecting all the pictures, avatars etc but although it is downloading all the threads of the forum, I haven't yet found a way to make it behave like the forum did, so it's a case of searching the html files to find the information required.
The download total for both the Gallery and Forum is currently at 50,000 files and just over 1Gb of data.
Adrian.

Hi Gill
perhaps Key items could be saved I have just printed off a couple of Vinces build threads on the Skdfz7 half track.
These are useful as backup to the manuals when building because of the detail photos.
Also the craftsmans market items that have not been posted over to the new forum I go back to a lot.
Just a thought.
