Notek Convoy Light

Post by GaryJensen »

I'm trying to do some 3D printing to add details to my Pak 43/41.
I'd like to print the Notek convoy light, but I can't seem to find dimensions anywhere.
Would anyone have that information to share?

Thanks,

Gary

This is my first attempt at 1/6 scale modeling.

Here are a couple of items I've been working on:
Here's the original

My version:

These parts may have been in the acetone vapor bath a bit too long. They are a bit shiny, but paint may resolve that:

This is the light I'm hoping to get dimensions for:

Looking at the picture seems to me a normal early notek German rear, protected and placed inside a metal shield .... also because I believe that the components were standardized and were used a bit on all models.

I hope will be of help:

Hi Iacopo,

Thanks a lot for putting up that web-site on the Notek Convoy Light.
I always wondered how the lighting system really worked.

Well now I know…….!

Cheers
Ian

Thank you Christian, for the photos and measurements.

Here's my first shot at it. I don't have any green fingernail polish...Have to talk to my wife about that. :)

I couldn't decide if I wanted the flap up or down, so I just put it in the middle.

Now I can work on the shield.

Cheers,

Gary

The German rear light notek had two half-moon windows down:
right it was orange and signaled the "stop" and was visible even with the metal flap down, the light left was a normal light red convoy.
Above, there were four green windows (in pairs) for the convoy night:
if the pilot of the tank that followed saw two green lights: good!
But if he could see four distinct lights green maybe it was too close! :D :D

I hope this link will be useful!

The flap could not remain half open: the side there were four metal tabs lock.
You have to decide how best to place it.
As always I apologize for my bad English!

Ciao,
Iacopo
