Build project as per page of manual.

Page 4 On page 4 it tells you to rivet certain holes. I did this unaware of the addition of the cabin front angle. I found no number reference and notice a different part color but no number. Anyway leave it (left hand side as you look at it) and the back top corners open for the beam support lugs. Or you can rivet the piece at this stage and put to one side.

Thanks Derek. Straight forward build with a little forethought about where & when to permanently install rivets. There appears to be sub structures built and put aside and a jump to other sub substructures to finalizing details before mounting permanently. I'll post pics with notes but I think details to pieces could've b been done early in the build.

Decided on Tankk 2399 Abou-Ben-Adam II

20-Nov-17 - A bttn, 1 Coy, 1 sec, A2 Lt Duncan CW - A2 was hit and stopped by five trench mortar hits beyond the Hindenburg Line, the OIC and Driver were KIA and the rest of the crew were wounded by the fifth hit. The crew dismounted and Capt Wain silenced 3 MG guns with a Lewis gun before he was shot from behind by a sniper and killed Captain Wain was awarded a posthumous VC W1a

According to info on https://sites.google.com/site/landships ... 300---2400

Just unsure where name and numbers go at this stage.

Dry fitted pieces on page 16 & 32 to the piece on page 6. As is now I believe these pieces could be added at page 6 and set aside. Anyway, I'll post again after I perma rivet.

Just my opinion.

Hi Ray

Looks good. You are completely correct, this looks an ideal sub assembly

Page 6 sub assembly. Add all rivets and strips as per this photo. Then set aside. The muffler and exhaust stacks can also be fitted at this stage I just hadn't added them in the photos.

Hi Ray
Very interesting to see the interior of the sponson, and how the rivets are going in.
I am still rivet bashing on the Hull sides, and feeling a little disheartened as I am going to have to remove some that I fitted out of sequence.. ... ..!
Have you sussed how the sponsons are going to be mounted on the hull? It is not quite clear as yet.
All the best
Steve

G'day Steve. I've provided 2 photos to look at. The 1st one is per manual instruction, however the thick sponson frame is visible when seated. The 2nd one reveals no frame which I think looks better.

Don't feel disheartened, I've had to remove 4 rivets for failing to triple check manual and then orientate the piece to ensure correct hole not perma riveted. Trust me, even the extremely good builders have made boo boos.

Hi

The second picture above shows how the assembly is meant to be. Apologies for the lack of clarity in the manual.
