Dear friends,
the last couple of years the Netherlands Ministry of Defense has seen fit to organise all Dutch defense museums under one umbrella i.e. de Stichting Defensie Musea [the Association of [Dutch] Defense Museums].
While the Royal Netherlands Navy Museum stays near the naval HQ in Den Helder, that of the Royal Netherlands Marines in Rotterdam and that of the Marechaussee (Military Police) in Buren on December 11th, 2014 on the former Royal Netherlands Air Force base Soesterberg the Air Force Museum and the former Royal Netherlands Army Museum open their new joint museum doors. The Dutch name is Nationaal Militair Museum.
There is a nice short film on the famous online tube about bringing in vehicles and ordnance. After World War 2 the Dutch rearmed with almost any Allied system and later on with e.g. Centurion and the Leopard tank families. So when you visit my country there is a museum you will have to go to.
