Bergepanther
Hi guys,
after picking up the Bergepanther kit from Fabrice end of June I already started the assembly of the kit. First of all I plan to rebuild the drivers and also the operators place for bringing the figurs into action. At this time I am convinced, that my plans will work.
The actual status of the design
Some modifications to add welds
Additional details to the hull
Some modifications to the inner wheels
The new driving concept
If the concept would not work, it can be changed to the motion pack drives easily
Stringers added
The excellent details from Steve Winstone added
Transmission dummy in place
Frame in front of the winch with the seats already brushed, but not in place
Some instruments for the driver
The radios for the operator
The towing extension
New build air scoop
And last but not least a console for the 2cm gun (which I will not need )
Thats it for today

Re: Bergepanther
Hi guys,
thanks for your positive feedback! In the last days I modified the rear deck. By the modification it is possible to remove the rear deck partially. Below the rear deck I added a frame, which is attached to the rear plate and to the treverse bulkhead. The new rear deck is partially modified and has all holes drilled.
Also attached is the left driving motor. Next will be the periscopes for the driver and the radio operator.
The longitudinal struts
The left motor and the longitudinal struts
The rear left intake grill is mounted
The cover behind the intake grill is glued to the frame, the cover with the exhaust fan is mounted
The left side is nearly completed
The lifting hooks for the cover with the exhaust fans will allow to lift the cover by the crane
The new rear deck
The new air scoop mounted
Thats all for today

Re: Bergepanther
Hi guys,
both motors are now mounted
The drive chains can be tightened by moving the motor brackets
There will be a conflict with the drive chain and the rear bracket of the winch. I will need an own deigned bracket
Self made photo etched parts for the tab washers
The drivers periscope, not yet completed
The operators periscope
The first test run (dry) was ok, but I still have to modify the bump stops on the left side.

Re: Bergepanther
Hi guys,
I made some progress in the last weeks. I have finished my sound boxes, which are placed over the tracks below the grilles. For the sound I am using a Beier module and a frequency crossover. In each sound box I have placed one subwoover as horn and the tweeter is placed between the motors. Now I have enough space to place a replica of the upper engine.
The driver figure is already animated (head, arms), also the operator (head). The both figures in the rear compartment will be animated later.
Left sound box
Tweeter
Battery, receiver, two switches, sound module. One switch is used as circuit breaker for the main current circuit, the other for activating the engine sound.
Crew in the rear compartment
Driver, from rear compartment
Operator

"There are no atheists in foxholes" isn't an argument against atheism, it's an argument against foxholes

Re: Bergepanther
Hi Gunther,
Great to see the inner workings of your Bergepanther, and your figs look good sitting up front.
Also good to see you back on the Forum.
Keep your pics coming!
Cheers
