I presume it depends on the make and size of the battery but for my Shermans I use 20AH AGM batteries with round crimp connectors bolted to the top of the terminals.
However, having Googled Torberry I may start using the golf cart battery loom as it gives a reasonable amount of protection from accidental shorts - something of which I've always been a little concerned.
