making the Fuse-setter

I started this weekend, on the fuse-setter, I had seen pictures, and the shape being angular and of modular construction, I thought this would be easy, with a few fiddly bits added, I suppose if I had used alloy block it would have been, but I did not have any, so I fabricated it from mild steel copper and brass, there is still a lot of detail and the dial to go on, have posted some pictures of the work so far

Dail and cover added to the top of the fuse setter, just the clutch lever to be made and fitted to this unit, paint still a bit wet and shiny

Hi Jeff,
I am following your beautiful work on the 88; my sincere congratulations.
I have obtained the Fuse setter of mine, from an aluminium block, but your system is like the real one and it is better.
Unfortunately we are so far away: it would be good to see the two guns side by side.

Hi Alfredo ,thank, you for your kind words, and yes I would like to see your finished model; the problem I am having making the flak 36, is finding period pictures that show the details that need reproducing on our models, the pictures that Vince has on his site are great, but all have been up-graded to the Flak 37

Great Work Jeff. The finished product looks first class. Its a shame that Alfredo lives so far away as it would be great to see the two models together. From the photos available both are a work of art.

Jeff,
Great work, there is clearly a lot of detail that can be added to the 88. Are you sure this isn't doubling up as some kind of "What the Butler Saw" machine??
Seriously you halftrack and this beauty will be a sight to see.

Are these light indicators going to work?? If so this is a truely amazing model.

Hi Allan, each of the indicators would have had 30, 10v bulbs arranged in three circles, for 100s, 10s and single metres, and by covering each of the lit bulbs, it set the range and fuse setter, what I am going to do on each of the indicator dials, is illuminate 3 on each, to show how they work.

Hi I have altered the indicator dials, and made the spring clips that hold on the covers, lights have been added to all the dials, just the three dial indicator light, hands, for each of the dials, to be made, I have started to simulate the armoured cables, not sure if this is right on the Flak 36, they were used on the 37, but not on the Flak 18.
