Centurion 23

Post by Luc De Weirdt »

Hi guys,

After a mid Tiger I and Sd.Kfz.222 I am now the proud owner of a brand new centurion.
This is my first British tank after years of building German vehicles (not all Armorteks  ).

The model came in his original packing:

The good man from whom I bought the model also included these 4 books:

To be continued, :P

Hi Luc,

welcome to building a Centurion! I am part way into my build and loving it, the first I have attempted.

If you have any questions then have a look at my centurion #44 thread on this forum or any of the centurion threads as there is a wealth of information out there to help you as you go along.

I am basing mine on a Suez crisis model so it is in desert sand colour camo and so far it looks good.

Hope all goes well with your build but feel free to PM me if you need to.

Regards,

Mick

Hi Mick,

Thank you for your reply.

I just took a look at your centurion and I must say you're doing great.

I hope you don't mind if I take your model as an example for mine.

Hi Luc,

I would be more than happy for you to base your own Cent on mine. I am not aiming for a specific vehicle as I can't find any good reference material to help with that. I am doing a sort of generic version of a Suez Cent.

The books you have look good though and I have the Centurion in detail photo book on which I based the desert sand colour scheme.

I have been spraying the hull assembly and now I can see the colour on I am very happy with my decision to not do the deep bronze green version.

I will post some images of the build so far on my #44 thread over the weekend.

Keep in touch,

Mick

Luc,
Fantastic details on your Centurion. Very nicely done. I like the camo as well. Can someone tell me what the barrel wrapping is for? thx,
Bob
