A possible solution

Hi everyone

I wanted to share something I've been working on for another project that may be applicable to the recoil with effects question. I'm only putting it here to maybe give someone some ideas or inspiration to develop something for those who have the new recoil system but would still like some bang.

DISCLAIMER: I've been reloading ammo for years and have owned several black powder pistols and understand the hazards that go along with it. I am not suggesting this is the perfect solution nor the only solution but maybe one system that could easily be made to work in a 1:6th, metal model that has the recoil.

These were some RN gun patterns I did in 1:24th scale with the intent on making the guns work. I have tested them many times and know others who have working guns on RC ships with much success.

Here's a test firing secuence

A fellow builder came up with a very clean way to do electronically ignited, reload-able barrel inserts. It is this that I think would be easily adaptable to Armortek models and allow recoil WITH effects.

The scale and length of the parts would be different for the tanks but same concept.

Hope this is helpful to some. I know it's not feasible in a lot of areas but it is quite impressive when they fire.

Tim

This may be a solution in certain countries but the mountainous red tape here in the UK is unlikely to make this practicable

For example - taken from http://www.black-powder.co.uk:

"If you wish to load and shoot a Black Powder gun of any sort then you must first obtain a COER 3 - Certificate to Acquire and Keep Explosives. This form is available from your local Constabulary and is currently free of charge. This Certificate lasts for three years. The maximum allowance for personal usage is currently 15 kilo's. The UN numbers relating to Black Powder are UN 0027 & UN 0028."

"When you have obtained an Explosive Certificate to Acquire & Keep explosives this entitles you to buy (subject to a minimum age of 16 years old) and to store explosives. THIS DOES NOT ENTITLE YOU TO TRANSPORT EXPLOSIVES."

"To allow you to transport explosives you must now obtain a POMSTER document. This stands for The Placing On the Market and Supervision of Transfers of Explosives Regulations 1993 or is more commonly known as a Recipient Competent Authority Transfer Document (RCA)."

Having said that, those cannon are mightily impressive :D

Adrian.

Yes I agree with Adrian, very impresive working cannons and your clear
photographs.
Very interesting to see and read about, even if not being able to use in Uk
Thanks for posting
