I have been building my King Tiger for about 3 months now and have decided its about time i posted a few photos.
This King Tiger is No30 of the original batch and will be completed with a few mods Such as adjustable torsion bar suspension, high efficency motion pack recoil and detailed engine bay.



This shot shows the partially complete turret. Those that are familiar with the King Tiger may notice that i have repositioned the track hangars, The reson for the track hangars being moved is that as supplied they are simetrical left and right but in reality they were not (you could hang the same section of 2 part track on either side).



This shot shows the turret roof removable sections removed. I thought this would be neccesary for access to the elevation and recoil mechanism.



The turret front has had the gunners sight apperture detailed and the MG port position moved with the correct shape cut out added, i have also added the MG armoured shield.



A closer view of the MG and cut out. The MG is attached to the main gun elevation arm and now moves in sinc with the main gun.



The gun mantlet has been reshaped so that it is wider nothe left and deeper at the top, A bit of texture and gas card holder have also been added.

The turret rear hatch has been detailed, At the time Steve Winstones example was not available so i did my own.



The rear hatch closed and the lock bars in the locked position.

Your turret looks great already.

The modifications on co-axial MG synchro with main gun, and main gun recoil sleeve mechanism are real inspirations! I have been waiting long enough for them shown up someday by skillful builder. The waiting is over!

If you consider to release them as aftermarket parts later on, please count me in.

Also can't wait to see the adjustable torsion bar suspension and high efficency motion pack installed.

Lower hull sides have now been completed and are almost ready for the final assembly of the hull



This first shot shows both lower hull sides, Details added to the bump stops, Repositioned suspension damper mounting pins, Torsion bar end fixtures added.
You may also notice the 4 studs where the lower part of the gear case will sit,The reason for these will become more obvious after the hull is assembled and the armoured shields are added for the gear cases.



One of the detailed bump stops, I copied John Grimas idea (Hope you dont mind) and made a plastic master of the top side detail and cast 4 tops in white metal.Cap head screws have also been replaced by bolts.



Another view of the bump stop and some of the torsion bar end fixture detail, I know its not exactly right but it is not realy going to be that visable once the suspension arms and wheels are fitted,
I still have to prime the remaining hull parts and then assembly can begin.

Further work carried out on the hull.
The hull has now been assembled with all access panels added, Drivers escape hatch added and reinforcing plates added.
The final drive armour has been corrected, increasing their length by adding white metal castings i made using the supplied armour as templates.

Nice work and good to see somebody detailing the bottom plates. Perhaps not 100 % correct and hard to check ones the tank is on it´s tracks but still good work.

Perhaps to late to change but one detail that is wrong is this one (see circle);



This detail should only be on right side (not as here on the left as well). I´ve tried to work out the purpose of this detail but so far I haven´t got a clue - remains a mystery.

Thanks for the reply, It should not be to much of a problem to remove the stud on the left.
The added detail parts are not 100% accurate as you said but close enough to be convincing when the tank is on its tracks, (you never know I may end up rolling it over !).
