Hi
I'm Kevin, a new recruit to the world of r/c tanks ( unless you count 1/16 BB firing "toys") and about to become a new Armortek model owner. My deposit is down on a Centurion and I hope to complete the purchase very soon.
In the meantime, have enjoyed reading numerous posts on here, not just for the Cent, and I have started some research about the variations from Mk 5/2 etc. I hoped to model a tank from my Dad's Household Cavalry regiment but seems this won't be possible in terms of historical accuracy. However, the 1st Royal Dragoons, who amalgamated into the Household Cavalry, did run Centurions during the 1960s before they all swapped to Chieftains. A peace time tank (cold war) may be a bit dull but I figure there will be no shortage of "battle scarred" models of Suez, Korea, Australian/Vietnam versions so will try to be different.
I'm an absolute beginner, so have no doubt I will be asking all manner of idiot questions. Please bear with me.
Also, I'm based in Guernsey. Any other Channel Island owners out there?
Cheers for now
Kevin
