Tiger 1 Details Wanted

Post by Bob Gould »

Hi

Forgive me if my questions are obvious but in my defence I'm a brand new, first time builder and i'm already obsessing - damn hobbies!

Got a 2012 Late Tiger 1 kit and i'm looking for the following, if indeed possible and/or affordable. I have seen some on here but think they are private projects

1. External MG for cupola (anti aircraft MG)
2. Inside part of front MG
3. Glass or more realistic periscopes
4. Engine that will fit in the proper place after all electronics/drives are fitted
5. Radio's and internal fittings that can be seen when hatches are open
6. Any significant external details
7. Ammo bins and 88 ammo
8. A crew
9. A new wife!!!

many thanks

Bob

Hi, congrats on the new tiger. I am also working on a late tiger but its the earlier 2007 version. I have made quite a few parts for it. I will be offering some parts for sale such as front and rear mudguards, air vents, vision ports, jack blocks, many interior parts for the seriously afflicted including the forward ammo bins. Just waiting on my ammo supply to arrive to get size sorted. A combination of accurate dimensions snd what will fit into the armortek interior. Have a look to my build (johns late tiger), currently making up a price list. Also looking into a supplier for some decent size aerosols of german RAL paints which I will probably sell at shows.

If you have any queries on building the tiger feel free to pm.

A new wife will probably think the same as the current wife.

Thank's John. Will keep an eye out for them.

FYI: A wife is only temporary, an ex-wife is FOREVER!

Hi Bob

Congratulations on your Tiger 1.

Most of the parts you are looking for are available from aftermarket suppliers. I use detail parts from all three of these suppliers on all my builds.

6th scale Icons - Detail hatches, cupola, mud flaps, tools and brackets, cables and brackets, 8.8cm Kwk36 ammo. Too many parts to list.

Steve Winstone - (your Tiger may have come with some of these) Working lights exhaust heat shields, jack and brackets, spare arial tube, jack block and brackets, starter plate detailing, bump stops.

Armorpax - Detail hatches and other goodies

Panzerwerk - Detailed Comm Radios and other parts

Their parts and contact info, and other excellent parts like Johns interior items, can be found in the "Craftsman Market" section.

Look forward to seeing your Tiger come together.

kind regards
Tim

Thanks Tim

Getting used to this now. I'm amazed how many cottage industries have come from this hobby

Glad they have
