Hope somebody is going to start another Firefly, soon, I need to pick someone's brains!

I am playing with the idler. When I pass the idler shaft through the bearings and secure with the end cap and a M4x10 (not M5x10, maybe typo in the instructions? ), the wheel will not revolve ! Help what do I do next?

You might have tightened up too tight. Put some loctite on the csk and put in till tight then back off till it moves freely and let the glue dry.

you could try and put a small m4 washer behind the large steel washer then do it up, its usually the large washer pinching up on the wheel bearings, the small washer will just give you a little gap from the bearing, you can try what lee said but specking from experience any loctite on those bolts just leads to problems when you want to take the wheels off in the future,

I wished I new what I'm doing, but it's great fun!
Just putting things together, to understand how they work, before painting and final assembly.
Next up is the taper lock on the sprockets, should be fun.

It may be the bearings aren't fully into the recesses in each side of the idler.

If you haven't already bonded them in place, see if there is any swarf or tightness in the idler which is preventing them from dropping fully to the bottom of the recess.

Hi

Had another play, last night, decided that the problem was friction between the end of the steel shaft and the idler. Solution was to sand the wheel.
