Tankfest

Post by Armortek »

This weekend we will be at the Tank Museum's big event of the year - Tankfest!

This show is a 'must do!' for any tank enthusiast!

We are in a new location this year alongside the arena, so should be a good position for watching the full size vehicles as well!

As always we have great support from Armortek customers and members of the South West Tank Club. We will have a large running area for the many Armortek tanks and vehicles we are expecting.

Hope to see as many of you as possible over the weekend and for those who are unable to make it, we will take lots of photos and post them here next week.

For more details go to:
http://www.tankmuseum.org/ixbin/indexpl ... rd=art2565

(note: for those coming on Friday for setup we will be around from about 2.30pm)

Gill and Mark

Hi Gill & Mark
We are just leaving the B&B, near to Dorchester, to visit the museum and, hopefully, photograph their Sherman Firefly!?
We look forward to meeting you for the first time.

What a wonderful weekend 8)

Many thanks to Gill and Mark for their hospitality, the SWTC boys for their company and especially Jim for the use of his generator.

And to Denny for agreeing to be the guinea pig for my KT and JagdPanther muzzle flash units - I don't think I could have selected a better test subject :D :D

Good to see Yves and Sven too, though rumour has it that not many of Sven's photos will have any armour in them ...

An excellent weekend in all respects at Tankfest and we can only echo Adrian's thoughts. Great as ever to see so many customers both with us for the weekends event and those visiting, not just from the UK but from Belgium and Sweden too! Nice to welcome new customers too and to meet many customers of the future.

We had a great display of Armortek models which were much appreciated and admired by the large crowds. A particuarly good showing of Panthers and for once the Tiger 1's were well outnumbered! We were right alongside the main arena, so got the full benefit of all the full size vehicle displays and impressive demonstrations.

Thank you to you all, and particuarly those who so kindly helped us with setting up and dismantling the stand at the end of the show. I remember when we first started doing shows it was always quite a struggle for Mark to put up the tents with the help of his 'vertically challenged' assistance! Now I am simply not needed! Also much appreciation to those who manned the stand for us Sunday lunchtime.

Once I can find my camera! I will try to get some pictures posted.

Yes I'll agree with Adrian on that. Thanks to Gill and Mark for the hospitlality and the bacon butties, drinks and ice creams. We had a lot of interest and provided quite a bit of running and the weather held out certainly yesterday it was steaming. Good to meet up with a few people off the forum and put names to faces.
Met James May of Top Gear fame and invited him over to our area but he unforunately ran out of time. All in all a good weekend.

Dennis.

Tank Fest

Post by Steve Stuart »

Sunday was a blistering day, it was great to see some sun!
The set up this year seemed to be much better with the re-enactors well dug in where they could be seen. With my sense of humour it looked as though they were subject to some Brigadoon like resurection for Tank Fest!
It was good to see the Armortek and South West Tanks display, and I picked up some good advice from some of those manning the stand which is much appreciated, thanks!
A good day.
Steve
