Firefly books

Post by John Wiggins »

Hi starting to find my way around the forum. I,m staggered by the amount of knowledge forum members impart to others, thank you!
I thought I knew a lot about the Sherman tank, accumulated over the last 45 (or so) years  , with all the books I have collected and the models I have made. But then you find something special........
I have just purchased a copy of 'SHERMAN FIREFLY' by Mark Hayward, wow, what a book, what a piece of research!
I don't envy the person who does the research for the Armortek models, the breadth of variation in the Sherman in particular is vast  .
Regards to all
John

I agree the Hayward Firefly book is probably going to be the standard reference for this kit.

I like the Concord books for stowage pictures etc, especially as they do the different theatres as well.

I ordered this book and recieved it in one week via airmail.
It is a great book resource, VC Firefly, almost all pictures.
I have a Firefly on order and it will be my first Armortek build.

It's like rocking horse droppings I'm afraid.

I managed to get a copy of the IC photo gallery book from a dealer at Tankfest but I've never seen a copy of the VC book available anywhere :(

Thanks Adrian

You have confirmed, what I have thought. Non of the military book suppliers have had a copy for a long time.
Just thought a forum member might part with a copy, if I cross their palm with silver ( or gold! ).

Unfortunately there are laws preventing that

Not to mention the fact that I don't have a copy either
