PTFE rings

Post by David Pengelly »

I am able to offer PTFE rings to replace the brass ring as fitted to the Tiger1 ,
I am sure most if not all of you have seen the "lazy susan " thread , and these PTFE rings were found to be a great success, giving the turret smooth ease of rotation ,
The rings will comprise of One set, :-
1 ring to replace the brass ring thats bolted to the deck , and 1 plain ring that sits on top.
The lower ring will come drilled and countersunk.
There is no need to "fix " the top ring as the weight of the turret keeps it in place.

At the moment i can only offer these rings to fit the early/mid production Tiger 1 as I am not yet sure if the dimensions of the late Tiger turret are the same as the early one .

Please also be aware that if these rings are fitted the turret will be 1mm higher than with the original brass ring.

Price of 1 set of rings will be £100, plus postage at cost .

Hi Dave,
Have you any pics, images of the PTFE Rings for a Mid-tiger 1 to show us!
And would it make Vincent's turning gear for turning the turret from underneath obsolete?
