Mid tiger1 hard target
Well it starts all over again, we are just about to start building an early Tiger1 kit, she will be used as a hard target and a filming prop.
We will not be holding back with the size and intensity of the explosive charges and the HV rounds with this one, ( this is the kit which requires the axels and a set of worn out tracks).
I will be bringing it along to the open day this year for you guys to peruse and then each year from then on as she becomes more and more a pile of scrap and a collection of holes.
If any of you guys can help with the odd part that's required that would be great.
I will post pics as soon as she's ready and then a blow by blow progress report as it's abused, if anybody with a web site would like a link please pm me cheers Phil

Just in case anybody is getting upset regarding the distruction of an Armortek Tiger1 I need to explain that it is being constructed from some very old stock that Mark has been putting aside for me comprising of U.S components that are no good for sale to the customer and which are proving a bugger to put together, it will also have the odd foreign bits and pieces, anyway the hull is almost complete and ready for a coat of paint ....Phil

Well its all together, the hull put up a bit of a fight due to the old style bearing blocks and the new style hull belly plate, but other than that quite a straight forward build , around 15hrs.
So now its down to the butts for some target practice, I will post some pics soon ..........Phil

Hi Phil.
Well it does look the part very impressive etc but...it does seem like a terrible thing to do to Tiger even if it is from bits and pieces.
Just my thoughts,as I say impressive though.
Cheers Paul

Well one way to look at it is....that these parts would have probable ended up in the ali scrap bin but instead they are entertaining us all and so creating interest, I am fasinated with the robustness (if thats a word) just think of the hundreds of thousands of man hours involved in the manufacture of the real thing and most met the same fate, imagine how it must have felt to light the fuse for the demolition charge after you nursed the vehicle for maybe years only to watch it explode in front of the crew albeit to deny the enemy of it's use

Tiger demolition and resurection
Perhaps the best thing to do is bury a Tiger on Exmoor in a peat bog, to simulate the Russaian Steppes and then recover it using Richies Bulldozer followed by a restoration by Paul as a 'Museum' exhibit. Each stage to be meticulously recorded to produce a 'Discovery Channel' film that will fool the experts, but not us who will enjoy the subterfuge!
