Wiring Schematics
Following recent requests we have posted the wiring schematics for the various models in the gallery. Go to the Armortek album and then the sub album for wiring diagrams. Each diagram shows which model is referred to.

I can't seem to get at any wiring diagrams on this link, Adrian?

Re: Wiring Schematics
Hello,
Are these available anywhere else?
I'm trying to connect a circa 2013 recoil unit to a 2003 system (inc sound unit).
So I'm mainly interested in the diagrams for:
2013 recoil unit
2003 sound unit
2013 "amplifier" module
Thanks
Sam

Is your sound system contained in a large plastic box with spade connectors running along one of the shorter ends ?
If so, that is the original Tiger sound system and is not compatible with the recoil unit. The recoil unit relies on a Benedini based sound system, either the TBS Mini or the earlier TBS5.
Adrian.

Re: Wiring Schematics
Yep. It is the large black plastic box.
Hmmm. It didn't seem very likely that they would be compatible. Presumably the Benedini unit sends a signal at the right time to the recoil unit for flash and then recoil.
I'll research the Benedini and swap notes with my Dad.
Many thanks
Sam

Correct. There are two outputs on the Benedini boards. One switches on and off when the main gun sounds, the other one oscillates when the MG sound is played.
If you know the Arduino or RasPi then it's pretty easy to sniff for the correct signal from the receiver and operate them independently, but I don't think the old sound unit even has a main gun sound, just a machine gun.
Adrian.

Re: Wiring Schematics
I'm confident about the electronics and software. Not 100% sure about where to get the sound files though.
What things have people tried to make the tank move more during firing? We have a Tamiya 1/16th and moving the tracks is OK as long as firing forwards. My understanding is that the controllers we have will stop that but also pretty tough on the tracks etc. Anybody shove the main battery around or some other ballast?
My Dad seems mainly keen on having a web cam broadcasting from the captains viewing position ;)
Cheers
Sam

I've never seen it done.
The mass of these models means you'd need a fairly violent transition to induce any noticeable movement in the suspension.
Adrian.

Re: Wiring Schematics
It has been done on 1/6 scale tanks with a touch of electrickery , presumably with a momentary on/off of reverse. Another module project for you Adrian?
Re: Wiring Schematics
It is amazing how cheap this tiny computers and expansion boards are. Linux computer, controlling 16 servos/lights, stereo audio, wifi access point, full hd camera for under 100quid and all the software is open source.
I think I might have to learn python though :(
I'm going to ask the guys at work about actuators that could create enough force in a safe and compact way.
Cheers

Re: Wiring Schematics
Hi, I am trying to hookup a TBS mini from Benedini to replace an old TBS 5 that is no longer available . Can the TBS mini compatible with it ? if so is there a wiring diagram that shows the connections.
Thanks for your help.
