Rouge sellers on eBay

Post by Paul Wills »

Hi Guys,

Watch out for rouge sellers on eBay, I caught this one selling a 1/6th scale Armortek tiger 1, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/armortek-mid-tige ... dZViewItem
and he was using photos taken from my web page of my tiger.

Hi Lee,

I have mate, I saw the listing for an Armortek mid tiger1, so I wondered whose it was, then I saw the photos of my tiger  , I thought the cheeky bugger, well words to that affect! :x He has now put a bit on the bottom of his listing saying it's not the one in the photos that’s for sale. That’s not good enough, it's still miss leading!! I don't want anyone linking it to me, I can get myself into enough truble without anyone helping, and he hasn't asked if he can use my photos, so I’ve have reported it to eBay.

Paul  .

I noticed the ad soon after it was posted. The seller describes the Tiger for sale as a kit "new in box", and he showed the image of the Instruction Manual with two images of assembled Tiger kits from "RC Empire".

Today when I look at it again, I see the seller added several new Tiger images. If these are your images, and if you file a complaint with eBay (to vero@ebay.com) then eBay will pull the ad, usually within a day or two after being notified.

Since the seller has a eBay feedback rating of 241 I wonder how he could not understand copyright law. However ill-mannered, this does not appear to be an effort to misrepresent.

Hi Martin,

You only have to go to my web site to know that they are my photos, as far as I am aware no one else has done an SS tiger at Kursk, well apart from, he who must not be named, Steve Winstone has his Tiger, 1331, so it just leaves me. I don't mind anyone using my photos as long as they give the credit to my site, it gives my site advertising, and hopefuly more people visit Armortek, Lee Sellers and John Sanders sites, and I might get a discount for advertising!!!!!! “Heyâ€
