With the rebuild to the mill that I purchased complete and that project now out of the way, I started working again on the different wheels for the tank. I did have some small problems with the idler and road wheels, but they were corrected.
One of the idler wheels had the bolt holes for the hubcap drilled on the wrong side and I also came across a problem with some of the long axel road wheels. The hubs were drilled off-center; I did contact Gill on the small problems that I found. So for anyone who has not gotten this far, double check what you have. Or you will do a double take as I did when I couldn’t get the bolts to go thru the holes.
The question I have is on the drive sprockets. From the information that I have, the star-shaped bolt retainer was added after June of 1944. I cannot find any info on the retainers for the ring bolts, were they added at the same time or early?
When I get a little more time, I'll post some photos on my progess in my build forum.
