Hello,
I have recently had the different effect packs delivered and have set them up to bench test.
Everything works except for the elevation motor, which does not respond when going through the different channels (though I am not 100% sure what channel 3 is on the 7C 2.4Ghz transmitter).
I have tried it by connecting it to the turret turn supply, which is the same motor type and connector and this does allow it to work through channel 3 on the transmitter, but I cannot get it to work on channel 4.
I have tried the firing motor, which works so it appears the turret loom is okay.
I have swapped out channel 6 on the receiver for channel 4 to see if this would make a difference and it does not.
This is the only part of the electrics kit that does not want to work yet (I have left the test of the smoke and sound set-up until the bench testing is done.
I am probably missing something obvious, but as it’s my first attempt I cannot see what it is, can someone help me out with a bit of advice.
--
On another brief topic though. I have built the blank firer unit, i have located suppliers for the blank ammo, but i have not found out where to get hold of the percusion caps needed to test it without powder. If possible can someone advice me where to get hold of these?
Thanks for the help
Marcus

Hi Marcus.
According to the 7C manual (http://www.futaba-rc.com/manuals/manual-7c.html), channel 3 is the throttle, so should be the left hand stick when moved forwards and backwards.
The easiest way to test is to put a servo on the receiver at this position and seeing if it moves when you move the relevant stick.
I'm confused by your line:
"I have tried it by connecting it to the turret turn supply, which is the same motor type and connector and this does allow it to work through channel 3 on the transmitter, but I cannot get it to work on channel 4. "
Do you meant that the turret turn works when connected to the elevation connection, or that the elevation works when attached to the turret turn motor connection ?
For the blank caps, it used to be Geometrotec but they seem to have left the ammunition business.
Adrian.

Thanks Adrian for the response.
the line that is confusing refers to me testing the elevation motor on the turret motor connection - which shows that the motors all work.
For some reason when all the wiring is done as per the book, i cannot get the elevation motor to work at all - this should be controlled from channel 4 but i don't get the motor to respond at all.
Everything works except this.

Hi Marcus
I have sent you an e-mail re your elevation issue.
Re the blanks Adrian is correct that Geometrotec are no longer trading however we have identified a number of other companies who should be able to help, these are listed on a previous post:

Hello Marcus
On your Reciver channel that you have the elevation on fit a servo. And check that has full motion. If it doesnt its the transmitter. If it does then the signal is ok. There fore electrics. Have you got the limit switches wired up??and correctly Ie the two pins that are on the outsides. you should have nothing on the middle pin. Try that. Keep us updated.
On which tank? Also which system have you got,The old system or the new?

Just to say that my problem (traced to some wiring on the aux module) has now be addressed. I sent back the turret sum loom, limit switches and aux module, and have had them back fully working.
For Lee I have the new electronics system and i am building the 48th 2010 mid tiger.
Thanks for all the help and Thanks for Armortek in fixing the problem swiftly.
