South West Model Engineering Exhibition - updated 18th April

Post by Armortek »

http://www.swmee.co.uk/

We will be attending this show in 3 weeks time and the Comet will on display and running at a public event for the first time. The South West Tank Club and the UK tank club will also be there and as in previous years we will be running the models in the central arena with the two clubs.

If anyone else who is not part of these clubs would like to come along with an Armortek vehicle and join us on our stand please contact me directly.

This event is now in its 3rd year and is looking to be bigger and better than ever.

Well just over 24 hours to go to our first outing of the year. The Comet is ready to go, together with a part build model showing the Christie suspension and double hull construction.

As well as members of the South West and UK tank clubs I know many other customers and potential new customers are planning to come along, so very much looking forward to seeing you all over the weekend.

The Comet prototype was very impressive to see in real life at the show, it is going to make a mighty fine model. Congratulations to Mark and Gill, (not forgetting Dave!) for producing a British Tank will be a lot more easy to manage than the German behemoths and will be a whole lot of fun to run.
So it was well worth the trip!

Well, we have not long been back from the show and an excellent one it was too. Many more stands and exhibits than last year and wall to wall sunshine (so we hear, as we were inside!) I think we saw more Armortek customers over the two days than at any previous show we have attended, and I know that many who have communicated on the forum met up face to face for the first time.

The Comet was extremely well received and with several new orders and a lot of interest, the Armortek family has grown again. Follow these links to the video footage taken at the show.

We were joined at the show by many familiar faces, many from the South West and UK Tank clubs, thank you to you all for your company, support and help. Particularly the practical help on arrival and at the end of the show for which we are very grateful. Thank you also to the South West Tank Club for your generosity and hospitality on Saturday evening, again very much appreciated.

I apologize for this slightly rambling post however Mark and I do feel very privileged to have such brilliant, friendly and supportive customers. Thank you.

A Great Weekend

Post by Stephen White »

Gill, Mark

We should be thanking you - for all the hard work you both put in but specifically for getting the Comet running ahead of schedule. It's superb and deserves all the interest it's getting.

Thanks too for your tireless efforts to put people together who'd exchanged pms and emails but never met face to face. The Armortek family grows and grows.

Couldn't resist this - Adrian, Denny, Gill, Mark - just waiting for a caption......

All the best to everyone who came to the show and a special thanks to Gill and Mark.

Yes, a really great weekend, my first as an active particpant. Gave the Panzer plenty of running in the arena, climbed the bridge with ease and the motor control is so smooth. Thanks again to Mark & Gill and the rest of the the SWTC. Sorry I missed you Sarah, met up with Stephen White, nice to put a face to a name. The Saturday evening's entertainment lived up to SWTC's standard and there were a few sore heads on Sunday morning. I too was so impressed by the Comet, that it looks as though I will be getting an early Christmas present, they do say (or so I told the wife) that you have to have two tanks to keep each other company !!!
