Panzer III Engine Deck Hinges

Post by Stephen White »

The link below shows the hinges used on the Pz III engine decks. Might save a lot of effort for anyone contemplating replacing the engine deck hinges with a more accurate version. These aren't the right hinges for the front hull transmission hatches, they were bigger and of a slightly different shape.

Stephen,
This looks promising. I'm only worried that they are plastic or resin which would be problematic for working hinges on the relatively heavy Pz III engine deck lids. I don't see reference to them being metal and much of the other Panzerwerk product line is resin. Does anyone know the material?
Thanks

Hi Lawrence

You are correct. They are Urethane resin. I believe someone is planning on making these hinges and the larger front ones in metal though.

Best regards
Tim

Stephen, are you using the large or small foggy unit?

Thanks
