Main gun recoil

Is there anyway to link a servo recoil system to the Benedini main gun firing sound, what i am hoping to get is the gun to recoil when the sound is triggered.

The MG's in turrent and front had no recoil system , this system only had the 88 mm Gun.

For a quick for-and reward look at the Wheelsystem at a Steam railroad engine. Here you have a high-speed Wheel turn ( electric motor ) , and a quick goeing for-reward push rod.

Iam not sure that this the right words to explain what I mean....
I think of using about this system after around it for the 88er Gun to recoil them complete with the Armortek blank firer .But I still wait for the right idea to realise it technically .

The recoil control they sell will actually control even a largescale servo - with a bit of extra wiring.

You can combine a servo operated recoil function with the Benedini soundunit through the optional digital input unit.

My colleague Howard has designed a mechanism similar to yours but controlled by a PICAXE chip which gives the fast recoil and the slow return which is quite neat. Have you ever dabbled with these things? They take a bit of understanding but when you've grasped it they are very flexible little devices!

Thomas designed a little circuit for me which basically plugs into the TBS5 sound module and allows either LED gun flash (MG or main gun) to trigger a small relay. I use these to power small Puppet/Wizard boards to, for instance, move an MG in synch with the LED flash from the TBS5. Something like this could be used to trigger your mechanism maybe?

I have not developed anything to control recoil/return speeds as Thomas stated this was something he was looking at as a future offering. Also, Nick at TankHobby was looking at as well.

I am working on a follow-up article on making the machinegun flash in sync using Digital Mode as I need/want it for my Panzer III.
I hope to have it done between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year - if work allows.

But, I am trying to make it from something simple as I work a lot on the KISS philosophy. I am looking to usecommon or readily available parts - like TankHobby Recoil board.- it was available, cheap, and it works.

I think if people show and interest in using an electronic fire control system, someone - and someone better than me - will most likely offer one. Imagine, recoil with speed and travle control; with an on-board BEC; made specifically for a large scale servo; and lets through in something for the machinegun to - somebody make it and make it cost-effectively.....I WOULD BUY IT and replace what I got!

My efforts are not to be the manufacturer as much as to be a lobbiest for the development of the technology. My article shows what I did with what I had on hand now .....and generated your response showing some of what could be. I think even if that is all it ever does, it was worth the effort.

There is another side of my putting out the article that I think I need to confess to everyone..... I see folks post stuff here all the time and I take notes, save pictures and just general "steal/take" it all away to use in my efforts. I really just want to be able to say I "gave" something back..... achieve some sort of "balance".

So, please don't think of me as an electronics guru or a great craftman...I'm just another average "Joe" (Jim) in our hobby who made the effort to give a little back.

Steve Norris has found a flaw in my supplemental diagram on using the TBS5 in Encoder Mode. I will update it after I confer with Steve and get him up. - SORRY

But, the good news is all the info on using the TBS5 in Digital Mode (the actual focus of my article on electronic recoil) is correct.

I sort of threw the info on the Encoder Mode operation in as an after-thought.....well, I made a minor "fub"

I will correct and post again when tested, verified and update on the RC1PANZER site.
