Sherman Tracks
Sherman Tracks
I am making the tracks up for the Sherman, could anyone tell me approximately how many you need for one set. Sounds stupid but then I know how many to put together.

David,
I think I made 80 per track but did remove one or two per side as they ran in. Another thing, make sure that you push the duck bills tight up against the track pads when you tighten the nuts to make the tracks as narrow as possible. They run better in the sprockets. You may also want to do a simple mod if you buy more 2mm nuts. Put the cap head screw through the steel clip and fit a nut and tighten it. Put the clip over the track pins through the duck bill then you can fit the final nut and tighten it hard against the first nut. This puts a measured amount of tension on the clip. A spot of loctite will also help as will a nut spinner to tighten the nuts easily.
