Post by Jeffrey Goff »

Its been a couple of weeks since last got a chance to do some modelling, and one of the things I noticed was the large gap around the exhaust box compared to the original, so I soldered in a shaped metal plate, and I think it looks better, I also made a start on the metal stowage boxes, this is how far I got tonight

Supurb again Jeff. I was looking at the top picture with the whel off, a couple of nuts screwed back on the studs, the dark "dirty" suspension, it could easily be mistaken for a 1:1 restoration!!

Jeff,
Your details are really bringing the 222 to life. Excellent work on the boxes and exhaust pipes. What theater of operations are you going to paint it? Hopefully western front! I like the mini tread plate too!
Kind regards
Bob

Hi Jeff,

Amazing as always. I thought the close up picture was a real one at first glance. I'm with Bob. Western front! :D Your 222's interior will be fun to watch as it receives more detail with every post.
best wishes
Tim

Hi Bob & Tim, I had not thought of doing a Western front model, I was only trying out some spray paint bought in Germany, and the number plates I bought about two years ago, but on checking the SS were still using the 222 until September 1944, so a three colour Camo it will be
check out this site for paint
this is the ebay number 370157495050
and the seller is HEERESZEUGAMT, 400ml spray can, four times the size of Tamiya, approx 9 Euros, if you read the blurb, which is also in English, it is supposed to have the same properties as the original paint
