Hi Richie,
In fairness, if you have issues with any of the various craftsmen who supply after market parts, under most Consumer Protection Legislation you should, in the first instance, give them the opportunity to replace defective parts or reimburse you. This requires direct private communication with the vendor. If you have not done this then your public post is simply defamatory, and could be simply interpreted as a malicious attempt to damage their reputation and business. If a vendor does not offer a satisfactory returns policy then that should be flagged as a warning to others. My experience with suppliers is that they put huge effort and pride into their products: they can't afford not too.
But as it stands your post is unlikely to encourage Mike to rectify/replace the parts speedily, nor more importantly is your petulant attitude likely to encourage others to consider offering the small hand-made items that so enhance the models we all take such pride in.
In life, you catch more bees with honey.
cheers Fabrice

All the items I bought from Mike Stannard and from all other vendors on this forum have been just fine, including the parts you mentioned. The advice and their willingness to go out of their way to help a fellow hobbyist have been admirable.
For one example, when I bought my first Padlocks from Mike I messed up putting the first together. Mike offered to replace it at no cost to me even though the fault was clearly mine! You may or may not have something unusual there, but by simply contacting Mike you will certainly read a prompt and honest reply.
See below are a number of Mike's pieces and parts - unfinished locks too - on my Tiger. Sorry if this image is too big, I do not know how to scale the image for these posts.

Mr. Wignall,
Mike had mentioned in a previous post that he had had problems with the rubber parts as you recently had noted. So you knew this. If memory serves me right he also offered to replace, as he has for so many other people.
Mikes actions seem to point out that he is a stand up kind of guy.
Perhaps he is sometimes too nice.

Hey guys;
This issue was raised by Mike eons ago. He told everyone on the forum that a bad batch of rubber was sold to him by his supplier so he notified all buyers of the immediate "Recall". Mike was and is more than willing to replace the rubber parts. All you have to do is contact him...easy as all-get-out. New parts are on the way... no problem. Just start at the source.

Hi Richie
Mike is a great guy and, in my experience, his customer service is also great. I have those same parts waiting to be installed on my late Tiger and they look and feel fine. I have purchased many items from him and as Martin has said, even when I lost a small part, Mike was kind enough to replace it.
I did not read anything malicious into your post and I'm sure Mike will resolve any problems you may have.
Best of luck
Tim

Hello Chaps
I have loads of parts from Mike and they are all fantastic. The problem is the scale we work in. To get accuracy parts need to be on the fragile side. They look good but open and close them (tool clamps) Too offen.
This is where oversizeing comes in some parts need to be slightly oversized to give a bit of operational use.
