Hi All
I have been looking into getting some scale castle nuts as they can be quite hard to obtain. Although Knupfer Modellbau offer various sizes, with M3 in sets of 7 for 10 Euro, they are unthreaded. I have a quote for some threaded ones that have been scaled from M24, see attached drawing, which would work out at 1.80 GBP each if I order 1000. As I don't need that many, I was wondering if there is any interest out there.

Stehr Modellbau make threaded castellated nuts in a variety of sizes and materials.

I bought a selection last year to test out on the Panther sprockets.

Hi Adrian
Thanks. I have looked at Steher Modellbau in the past and found that they were not shipping to the UK. They are now quoting a flat rate of 45 euros for even the smallest order. Was this your experience?

Yes, so I co-opted a friend in Germany and collected them from him at Militracks.
I was only ordering a selection, to test out, so the shipping was prohibitive. If a bulk order was done then it wouldn't be so bad.
Have you looked at Mark Lawson's brass ones or did they need to be steel ?
Adrian.

Re: M3 castle nuts
Yep, Mark Lawson's brass castle nuts are the dog's doo-dahs. I used them extensively on the armour shields on my PAK43 and they looked very impressive. Not expensive either considering they are cast then hand fettled and threaded. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Had some left over which are now on my Jagdpanther though not on the wheels as the originals were M14 and a wartime version of modern nyloc nuts with a fibre anti rotation insert. Also, they were slightly taller than standard nylocs being the P profile rather than the modern T section. The former are still available - much to the relief of the full size Panther and JP restorers!

Re: M3 castle nuts
Also have used Marks castle nuts which are threaded and work really well.
Still have some left for when the Panther build continues....

Re: M3 castle nuts
I ordered a bunch of stuff from Stehr including a bunch of the castellated nuts, in various sizes and they’re terrific being steel. Used them on my M3 Lee project.

Re: M3 castle nuts
Hi Adrian, Graham, Malcolm and Jerry,
Thanks for the feedback.
I was not aware (or had forgotten
) that Mark Lawson (Werkstatt Five) stocked castle nuts that are cast in brass. Also a large enough order from Stehr Modellbau would make the shipping cost reasonable. Consequently, I will not pursue my quotation from Accu.
Cheers,
Alastair

Re: M3 castle nuts
Hi,
I have just been reading the posts about M3 Castle nuts and noticed that it might be possible to purchase the nights Mark Lawson (Werkstatt) I am in the final phase of building my Pak 43 and would like to use these nuts on the shield of the gun and would like to know how I can get in touch with Mark? I have tried to find Werkstatt 5 online but I am unable find anything.
Thanks
Peter

Re: M3 castle nuts
He's on here as "mark lawson". If you look at his profile here it has his Facebook link, and on there is his Gmail address.
I won't post them directly as internet bots would pick them up and flood his account.
Adrian.
