Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Bob, Simon thanks again for your kind words, well the only way I could get the barrel locking bar to function was to move both side pivot brackets 10mm backwards, this involved knocking out numerous rivets and repairing the trails, I also had to shorten the locking bar slightly, pain in the !, but there’s no point having it if it doesn’t work, started work on the barrel dampers by adding the rubber boots, also changing out all the cap head bolts for hex

Made a new prototypical locking pin and handle, that fits into the cross bar

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Back to the build after a few days off, I wanted to change the stays that hold the shield into something more realistic, round bars with a ball joint to one end, and also add the lower one, making 6 in total, quite pleased with the result

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Thanks Bob always appreciated, most of the build now coming to the end, made and fitted the stop on the chassis, made the lower container brackets on the shield and started to reassemble, still have to look at the gun sight and make the towing eyes for the wheel hubs, this is how far I got today

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Well I have come to the end of the build, and very enjoyable it was, the last bits I altered were the wheel bosses, so they could take some steel eyes, just cut off the machined part and replaced with a screw in boss, will bring the gun indoors tomorrow so I can take a few pictures with a full length barrel, not enough room in my shed

Hi Jeff,
Very nice build!!
Just one question: Why did you paint the barrel cleaning rods "red and white"?
Regards
Peter

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
After Peters comment on the barrel cleaning rods, I changed them and brought the gun inside, the 25 pounder almost fits in the paks barrel length, few more pictures

Re: Pak 43/41 rebuild
Hallo Jeffrey,
Bleib gesund
Gruss Klaus
