2025 ARMORTEK KIT SURVEY

Over the last few years we have brought out a whole series of kits as a direct result of your feedback - kits like the Pershing, JagdPanther, Hetzer, Leopard 2A4, and more recently the Sd Kfz 7, 88mm Flak 36 and the upcoming Challenger 2.

So, in keeping with what has become and annual tradition, here is your opportunity to once again influence our future production plans.

We have added in some "guide pricing" next to the names of the models. This is a rough estimate of the price at the current rates.

Thanks in advance for your input and we look forward to the results.

Hi All,

thanks for the positive replies, Simon, you have a PM. Ray, how is your breach coming on? David, I wish I had the machinery to make my wheels like yours!

Paul,

I'm sorry that you are disappointed by your FOA breech. You seem to have done a great job building it, and it will look impressive in your turret interior

I'm sure the gorgeous design of Roland Mann was a bit more money than the FOA resin kit

This is an old design dating over 5 years, and Ton, our master builder, is updating these parts. He is finishing a full Tiger I turret interior right now for a customer, and you can see the photos on our FB page https://www.facebook.com/pg/Field-of-Ar ... 4408936520. Facebook changes its URL all the time, so I'm not sure how long it will work

Looking forward to your build

Loic

Hi Loic,

long time since we last spoke, thanks for the kind comments. I never said who the manufacture of the breach was, but if you are happy to take credit for it 8) The link you have posted goes to the Tiger 1 turret floor, it looks very impressive work. please send my complements to your builder. 8) the correct link to the breach, MG and optics is: https://www.facebook.com/pg/Field-of-Ar ... 9608462341

The Roland Mann breach and barrel were a one off piece of engineering and has never been for sale. if it was, I think if would be worth 1000s

Hi All,

Not a massive amount done this Sunday, you soon lose time researching.

Last time I was a Bovington I noticed two screws in the gun sleeve, so I researched it on David Brydens site. There are six slot headed screws and a drain hole.

So I added them.

think of all the details now added to the tiger kits, compared to a few years back, just to see an old kit complete was a treat, the level is on the up and up, nice work Paul, regards Simon.

Hi all,

here is a bit more work on the turret, I cannot believe how much detail I missed the first time round.

Using this photo as reference I noticed that I hadn't done the welds around the side turret vision slots, the fillets or the pivot stations. I also noticed that the two hols in the pivot stantions were missing and that the weld detail needed to be added in the turret side below the vision slots

Hi Uwe,

This will be the last time for this Tiger, I need to display something else rather than just my Flak36 :D

Thanks for the photos, they will come in very useful. 8)

Hi All,

I looked at altering the original muzzle brake, but looking at it there are hours of Dremelling to get it somewhere near what I am looking for. Someone mentioned that Mark had made a three piece early muzzle brake, so with the addition of Mike Stannards rifling it looks very close to what I was looking for.

I just wish I had a milling machine so I could add the Muzzle Brake lock and the slots in the collar. then it would be spot on for me

Hi all,

I noticed this photo on the web, which was lucky because I was just about to paint the turret.
tiger_1_vimoutiers_06_of_15.jpg
As this is the Vimoutiers Tiger and it has not been tampered with, I am presuming this is the Waffen AMP stamp for the Mantlet. If that is right I have made some numbers up. you cannot buy lower case lettering that I know of, so I have made my own by selecting and cutting out the upper case plastic letters from Slater's plastic letters.
IMG_2322.JPG
If Kent or someone else is watching that might know, I'm right in thinking that the AR is a persons initials? I have changed the WA to 211, because the tigers Armortek batch stamp is 11.

Thanks Paul.

Hi Paul
I think the AR is the initials of the Frenchman who pulled the tiger from the ditch it was in for many years and partially restored it. Therefor a wartime vehicle would not carry these marks.

Steve
