I know what you mean about 40Mhz but I've got soo much invested in FM and not a lot of cash to throw around.
I'm half waiting to see if the wi-fi remote control works (or not). If it does work then maybe a USB control sticks with cheap pad (for soft button and camera) would make more sense. Presumably for tanks any slight extra latency wouldn't matter so much. I struggle to remember what all the switches and knobs on RC remotes do and my Dad is worse.
Currently I'm having a mini breakdown trying to decide what speakers to buy.

The Tannoy EFX/SFX ones Armortek supply are very good.
They're small but powerful and give a good amount of base from a small case.

Thanks. It looks like they fit at the back on the sides so I could keep the batteries in their standard position.

I could be seeing artifacts but the spectrum of 131 engine noise looks like it has a lot of energy at 80 and 200Hz.

- 131 engine recording spectra, log scale, 8192 window, audacity
For the flak88 firing a lot of energy is under 100Hz!?

The 100mm diam speakers cut off at about 150Hz.
Has anyone got a good enough hi-fi to listen to files with or without the 150Hz information?
Just to be clear, I have no idea what I'm doing

80Hz for the engine implies 4800RPM!? Could that be roughly right?

Doesn't it depend on the number of cylinders and how many cylinders fire per crankshaft revolution ?
I seriously doubt anyone has revved a Tiger engine to 4800RPM since the fifties

OK. I'm just digging a deeper hole for myself but... 12 cylinders at 2 revs per bang giving 80Hz comes out at 800RPM?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maybach_HL230 says max torque was at 2000RPM so maybe 800RPM is roughly right!?

Stage 1 delivered to the South for the electronics expert.
Stage 2 in the North started in a hull mock up.
Don't know how others fix the handles to the engine cover but I decided to braze them in place. Shown before being ground flat.

Hi Graham,
I think the instructions say to glue the the handles in place, but brazing them in place works even better

What glue do folks use to stick the turret bearing brass half rings to the steel deck, please? I suppose I could braze it

I have not fixed them, and they seem happy, the turret keeps them secured.

Thinking about another layout now I've seen sense and I'm getting the standard speakers.

- Layout V2
Electronics being near the switches (under the front hatch) and camera having short route to front seem good. Downside is longer power lines to fuses and relay? Also not sure what RF the power controllers have.
I should just get on with it now though
