i've found a gap at front after putting dvr/gnr front plate on. anyone else have this problem and if so how did you fix it? i dont want to totally fix it as i am also looking at the bridge version which has a different front & top.

secondly, what size fastener is used for the rear plate? is it the m4 csk? nothing in manual/

cheers

HI Ray
Looking good .like what you did with the fake bolts good idea ,dont know what bolts to use ,i welded mine . I have got a gap at the front i havent sorted it yet but thinking ,a piece of angle across the front bottom edge or, you could even the top out a bit ,front and back so its not so obvious i might try this option because their are some piece ,s of angle to go on the back (not in the kit) that should hide the gap from the back ,let me know if you come up with anyother ideas ,its coming on nicely ray all the best ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick
p.s your parcel is posted today :)

Hi Ray,

Your build is coming out nicely, well done!.

Noticed one tiny  thing in your latest photo.
It looks as the kit front tow brackets are made perpendicular to the front plate and not at an angle inward toward the centeras as on the real thing.

Image

Is this something you considering taking care off?

Keep up the good work
Kind regards
Kent

g'day kent. i didn't notice the towing brackets. at this stage of my modeling career, , i'm not going into the detail that many of the guys do. i'll do the fake bolt stuff and over time do things like hinged mud guards, detailed opening visors etc. nice to have details pointed out for reference though.

cheers
ray

g'day all. after progressing to the air vent grills & the chinese puzzle to mount them, i've just notice a gap. i've looked at nick's & gunters as see the fins go full length. were yours short to nick and you just made new ones or where yours correct length. see photo's.

i decided to place the track on for fit & spacing. there could be a bit of rubbing at the front and reear if the mudgaurds aren't adjusted. have you tried your tracks on with your modified guards nick? all that great detail would be a waste if the tracks bang against it. i'm sure your experience already allowed for that.

HI Ray
i didnt have a gap on my vents if you go to page 5 of my build there,s some good pics for you to compare ,on mine i have got a bigger space on the front end , it looks like you might have asembled it diferently you have got a small gap at the front i think thats what the problem is ,just try asembling it again ,if you still get trouble measure the vents and i will compare mine but i think just reesembling them will do the trick :D hope this helps . Your tank is coming on great and looking good keep the pics coming .
best wishes ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick

Hi Ray.

I agree with Nick. It looks like you have the vertical fins mounted on the front edge of the uprights, where as in the manual picture it looks like they should be on the rearward side of the uprights - so that the mounting bolts are forward of the upright fins.

Certainly looks a beast with the tracks on :D

Adrian.

HI Ray
i have had a look at the gap on the front of the tank ,you mentioned earlier and have tried this ,the angle brackets that hold the mudguards on could be interfering with the top deck so i slackend them all off and made sure they were flush with the hull allso making sure the front mudguard fillets still fitted snugly ,then i had a look at the bottom edge of the front glacis plate and just at the edges where they touch the guards i filed a bit off at an angle ,the bottom edge is square and this was stopping the plate from sitting down on the guards properly ,i have done all this and found that the gap is reduced conciderably ,hope this helps all the best ,,,,,,nick p.s it could be you need only file the bottom edges at the ends going back to your pic of the front gap you can just see the bottom edge at each end seem to be the problem :D good luck ,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick

g'day all. going away for 5 days  but also :D . catching up with family & friends. going to be 35c for the next 4 days.

john - got your pm & will search forum when i get back. thanks. not sure about the weight but it is increasing slowly. yes, i`m also going a tiger pending an email to gill.

nick - got the measurements of the guards, excellent thanks. will look at front glacis again when i get home. i think i'll loosen the nuts and bolts and file the corners more, already did it before your suggestion to file.

the other thing is, did you get the hinge pins for the hinges on the dvr's and mg gnr's hatches? can't find any.

the boxes are empty as i move on to the turret and extra's from armorpax.

i've found that natural chipping is occuring on some areas that i can highlight with paints later. i recently purchased the winter weathering techniques by mig jimenez. keep me busy during the winter months.

take care all.
