2025 ARMORTEK KIT SURVEY
Over the last few years we have brought out a whole series of kits as a direct result of your feedback - kits like the Pershing, JagdPanther, Hetzer, Leopard 2A4, and more recently the Sd Kfz 7, 88mm Flak 36 and the upcoming Challenger 2.
So, in keeping with what has become and annual tradition, here is your opportunity to once again influence our future production plans.
We have added in some "guide pricing" next to the names of the models. This is a rough estimate of the price at the current rates.
Thanks in advance for your input and we look forward to the results.

Re: Norwegian 2021 07 build
Hi Soren
I like what you have done with the vision blocks, they look realistic. I am slightly behind you with my build of Tiger no. 13 but have spent the evening modifying the Armortek vision blocks by hand with a Dremel, small files and milliput. I think I might have to invest in a milling machine as seeing all the modifications people are making is spurring me on to do similar mods.
I am enjoying your build, keep up the good work.
Regards
Gary

Re: Norwegian 2021 07 build
Thanks for kind words Gary.
I did also look into modify the original blocks, but as I had to make a new lower block to make it movable, and had materials lying around, I suddenly have milled out both
A mill is a great addition to a workshop, and it soon becomes a new hobby in it self
. Only wish I had gone for a bigger Mill, but with some planning and creative fixturing, most is possible.
Teamed up with my old Myford ML7 lathe, I'm well covered to do small work. I consider myself a newbie in metalworking, but love to spend time making swarf
and sometimes i actually are lucky to make a good part

I think you are speaking for most of us.
However, there are some seriously skilled people around here and I am beginning to think that you are becoming one of them!
Great to watch!
Hurry up to watch Ragnar's vision block solution as linked to by Adrian! It appears the pictures come and go as the most cursed photo hosting provider pleases...

Thanks Christoffer.
I have downloaded the picture of Ragnars brilliant solution. His design is similar to my initial ide, but a bit more clever I must admit.
I also downloades his design for the ball MG mount, will certenly copy that one.

Re: Norwegian 2021 07 build
Hey Hey, Xmas came early
Me and Tsar had a roadside rendezvous with a nice brown delivery van today
Sound and motion packs arrived. Recoil will be my own design, and if my plan works out, a quite a spectacular one both in sound and motion
It will also be the most difficult and time consuming aspect of this project , but is also one of my main reason for the entire build.
Smoke is something I will consider down the road, as I don't care mutch for the effects i have seen so far. (to mutch "steam" without pressure)

Bench test done. Had the radio pre-set up from a good guesstimate, and it workeded out of the box
The rest of the finetuning will be done once its in the tank (one day).
Very easy set-up of this kit, well done Armortek

Re: Norwegian 2021 07 build
Wow that was quick, mine arrived this afternoon also, but now Armortek is closed for Xmas i have a few questions i cannot find in the manual.
will the motion pack work with any 7 channel radio set up? there was a few issues with Futaba in the past i recall, and i am not a big fan of FrSky systems,i feel it feels like a cheap radio system, sure the add on options is pretty much infinite, but had problems running a Quadcoptor with the system,my question would this work with a Spektrum radio setup?
does the smoke unit need oil?
where does all this Suff get mounted inside the tank, speakers etc?

> will the motion pack work with any 7 channel radio set up?
Yes, it should do, but avoid any such as RadioLink which have super fast frame rates. Tanks need a reliable signal, not low millisecond response to commands like a drone.
> would this work with a Spektrum radio setup?
Yes, it should do, but I would avoid any of the "e" range as they are cut down versions of the standard radio (no antenna diversity, no voice prompts etc).
> does the smoke unit need oil?
Yes. You can use Johsons Baby Oil, or I have seen excellent results with Lamp Oil.
> where does all this Suff get mounted inside the tank, speakers etc?
Wherever you like. It's down to the owner to find a layout to suit them. There's a lot of room in the Tiger, so plenty of space for everything. Have a look at other build threads to see how people have done it in the past.
Adrian.

Re: Norwegian 2021 07 build
Dennis Jones may well have advice on a Radio that is not compatible with the Armortek Red Box set up. I use Spektrum and it is fine!

I am afraid its going to be quite a wait before this will start to materialise. But as a teaser I can reveal that it will include black power, pneumatic (CO2), valves, springs, shock absorber and so onI have made someting similar before, but not in this miniature scale. IF I'm able to get it functional is another matter, but it will be fun to try

Re: Norwegian 2021 07 build
It might be worth starting a new thread in the "General Electronics Topics", though I don't thin I've seen them mentioned so far on the forum.Donald Suttie wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 12:18 pmi was just about to ask if the SpektruM NX series works with the new motion packs as i see very little info regarding the NX range?
