Seems odd that the additional plates would be spares, I'd believe it more if the bag was labeled 4 yet contained 5. As it is, the parts list states 8 and the bag is so labeled which suggests to me a more meaningful purpose even though, like you, I see no clues in the build instructions. Is it possible they should be doubled up to give extra thickness, or is this a rare error perhaps creeping in between prototype and production kits?

Having owned a couple I realise the demonstrator is not necessarily a good basis on which to make assumptions but it doesn't appear to have the the spring formers (EM0137).

I wonder if the original design had these flat EM0121 pieces above and below the springs but it was found this flattened the springs too much, hence the formers to assist the curve ?

That would make sense Adrian, EM0137 added to the production kit but quantity of EM0121 not reduced correspondingly.

Coming on Well!

Space is the biggest issue at this scale, I'm having to shuffle kits around again with the Quad taking up a big chunk of my main bench.

Best regards

Very true Dave, I feel like 'Alice' in wonderland..... :) Now, as it is ask a question day, I would like to know if it is possible to test the 'Quad winch motor' before I lock all the bodywork down. I have stripped the parts back to fit the winch cable, and thought I read a 'post' suggesting the motor can be run before everything is built up sealing the motor in situ....Mick

hello michael,
you really need to bench test the electrics first as the manual states, then you can test the winch, and much easier at this stage to programme the sound, then I found it easier to build the chassis up with all the electrics fitted and make sure it all works before you fit the body,
