I'm inclined to agree with Pete and Colin, if we can save Mikes remaining stock from an arbitrary clear out and do some good in the process then ok.

However, if we get access to the inventory, it needs someone with knowledge of Mikes work to itemise it, communicate with us, and arrange shipping etc. Who? Is the recent "assistant" still around and are they up to the job?

The best person to assist in this would probably be Steve Panzerwerks, afaik he and Mike were very good friends and I'm pretty sure that he would be very familiar with Mike's stuff. Not sure how close Steve lived to Mike though!

Re: Gurtsack Production Update
Sadly as many of you have heard Mike passed away from the cancer he was fighting during this past year. I've known Mike since the late 1980s and he'll be missed my a lot of people. I've worked with Mike on a number of projects including the German 88mm shells we both released and his German flags. Our current project was/is the German Gurtsack. We're the company (BattleGear Toys) that Mike was working with to have the Gurtsacks produced and after some delays in production of the metal components the project is now in full production with shipping expected in early October.

From my conversations with Mike he accepted deposits from a number of his customers ... against my advise, and now with his passing I'm not sure if his daughter is going to continue on with the business or what arrangements will be made in filling his outstanding orders.

My arrangement with Mike was that we would not charge him for the gurtsack until they were packed and ready to ship from our factory overseas, so we have not received any payment from Mike and we'll be canceling that debt. However, for those who have paid Mike a deposit for the Gurtsacks, I don't know what to say ... I haven't been able to reach anyone handling his affairs.

Mike was an honest businessman with a love of the 1/6th hobby and he'll be missed by all who knew him.

If you have made a deposit to Mike for the Gurtsacks and have a invoice from Mike please contact me via e-mail only, so we can try and resolve this dilemma for Mike.

Mark and I were both shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He indeed contributed greatly to this hobby and it is clear from all of your comments that he will be sadly missed.
We hope that someone will be able to take over, so that all of his hard work, skill and craftsmanship will not be lost forever, as that would be extremely sad and I am sure not what Mike would have wanted.

When my order ended up in Mexico, which came as a bit of a surprise to Mike and myself, he was straight on the case, tracked it down and the globe trotting tank parts arrived safe and sound - a gentleman to deal with.

I am deeply saddened by this news, I had the pleasure of Meeting Mike last year, when he took me to his workshop to collect my order, a very enthusiastic man, who told me almost his whole life history. A fabulous workshop, with a great deal of tooling and components, I was much impressed. It is good to know that his legacy will live on because of the many parts he made being attached to our various projects.

Hi Everyone , you may know me as Panzerwerk , Mike and I have been friends for many years now and I miss him very much , we were talking about doing a Demag for R/C , mostly his work with my parts in Metal , sadly it will never be .

I am going to remove my comments as I did talk to several family members and just think they should make any announcement as to the future.

Mike was a real stand up guy , and I know he would have sold his shirt to make sure his customers were happy , so please be patient

I was very sorry to read about Mike. I've had quite a few of his parts over the years and was waiting on his Centurion bits and pieces too. Everything he supplied me with was first class. A sad loss to our community, but fondly remembered for the quality of his service. RIP Mike Stannard.
