Thanks Gill for contacting this fellow and sharing the information with us.
It was very interesting, if not somewhat disturbing. Not sure what was more frightening the 672 lbs or the 3000 rivets.
I'd like to get a copy of his plans too!!

Mark IV Plans
I will also ask for a set of plans if available. The Mark IV tank is what led me to find Armortek in the first place during my early searches for scale tanks. I am slowly building a male Mark IV and have gained momentum since inclusion in this forum. A local machine shop is currently making the 6 pounder cannons out of aluminum for me (Roland Mann's fine examples have shown me what's possible @ 1/6 scale). The plans I have are pieced from fragmentary figures ordered from the Bovington Museum a while back. My tank will include plastic parts for the first try so I can easily make changes and modifications. The WW1 French tanks are next on the list of Great War builds but they will have to wait until the Mark 4 and Tiger 1 are finished.
Maybe Armortek could make a limited run of 25 of these tanks for a test (of the faithful?). Lots of flat parts. The sponsons with cannon or machine guns are the only real complicated parts to this tank, especially if they can fold in for transport like the real ones did!! At 1/6 the weight should be less than 600 lbs!
I'll stop there for now. Cheers,
Brown

Mark IV Tank 1/6 Length/Width
Forgot to mention that a Mark IV @ 1/6 scale is ~53" long and 26" wide (not counting the machine guns).

Hi Brown:
Seems like you and I have some things in common. I too am a geologist, but up in Calgary.
I also want to build a Mk IV or V, but to date have am in the compilation of plans stage. I found it rather challenging to dicover what the frames looked like and how the structure was all put together (other than the thousands of rivets - I got that).
Piecing that together from pictures of near destroyed tanks and pictures through removed gun bays is a challenge.
When I contacted Bovington they sent me a list of their plan packs, but no WWI tanks were on the list.
Would you be able to share any of the material you got from them? or could you tell me what to ask them for as its probably not a plan pack.
Any assistance would be very helpful - or Gill and Mark could just make one and save me the effort.
