The show was a great success report soon.
John the turret numbers are painted on, we scaled up the numbers once we found a suitable font we printed them out. Then it was a simple matter of cutting out the stencil.
222 was a very easy stencil thankfully.
Once positioned on the turret we stippled the paint on with a bush and once dried the white outline was added by hand.
Strangely it was easier to do the numbers on the zimmerit than the bin as the zimmerit was more forgiving and minor imperfection are much harder to spot.
My only tips are to not have too much paint on your brush and always brush away from the paper not to it. That will stop the colour bleeding out under your stencil.
The Brown XF- 64 and green XF-26 are just Tamiya acrylic applied with and air brush. Didn’t take much just a single pot of each which surprised me then a dry spray to blend the colours together was applied The finial step was a couple of coats of Testors dull coat, to ensure a matt finish and protect the paint just a bit more.

Normally you get it so its the same consistancy as Milk.

I was using tamiya recently. What works for me is when I first open the new pot it's usually about half full. I top up to the top of the jar with thinner and later add anothe few drops. Has not clogged the brush.

Normally I thin the Tamiya paint 50/50 with Tamiya thinners. However I did add some more paint to my mix this time for the initial spray, then switched back to 50/50. A lot of it depends on your airbrush and what it can handle

Here is the show report also in the events section
Beautiful sunshine blessed us all weekend but the Friday before the show we were in trouble.
Beanie our electronics guru could not make it because of a family matter, this left myself, Gavin and my wife to sort out all the effects. So on Friday we laid out the village put out the men and set up all the effects and tried not to panic.
Off course nothing went to plan and we had the national news filming us no pressure
A new armortek owner Ross arrived on Friday night ready to give any assistance required.
So we as ready as we could be for Saturday and Sunday
The object was to run 4 shows one staring at 12.15 the next at 1.45.
Basically the US has the village, they send out the Stuart to probe the German lines, it is lucky enough to hit the 88 after the 88 missed her to which the German reply with a tiger assault.
The crowd loved it with the Tiger, Stuart, Sherman and the 88 firing their blanks, explosions going off, items getting run over, bodies flying thru the air, what’s not to like.
Following are a series of photos which were taken by a mate who showed up on Sunday as was given a camera and told to take photos.
Here the Stuart moves out to start the show

The only photo we did not get was the last building, the church; it has a figure in the tower, when hit, the poor solider goes flying out.
One show he split in two with his body going one way and his legs going the other the crowd went wild.
Maybe next year we will get the photo

Again, outstanding town layout and battle. I bet everyone in the crown was WOWed. At least the Sherman got a shot in!
