Hi guys,

Adrian is right with his description of the locking lever and the visor being pivoted downwards to replace the glass block.
The spare glass is visible on the left side of the bottom picture, partly hidden behind the steering wheel
That is the way it is described in the book by Uwe Feist and Robert Johnson from which I have taken the pictures.
Adrian, you will be safe with your DAK vehicle. Both versions were present there. I have pictures proving that.

After a week I finally have a working visor for the drivers vision port, if I were an engineer I would have worked out all the angles and clearances, but I am not so it was trial and error, the hardest problem for me was to stop the top edge of the hinged visor from hitting the body and not allowing it to fully open, on the full size visor the hinged arms are kept in tension with springs, so as the visor opens the springs push the top edge out allowing enough clearance to open, so I applied this to mine and it works, it also locks shut, and you can open and replace the glass vision block, just 4 more to go

Jeffrey that is awesome!

The attention to details seen the last weeks from you and others makes me happy.
Glad to see I and some other well known US and Down under friends are not alone regarding wanting our models accurate.
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers
Kent

As usual Jeff a true work of art. How much more work have you got on the 222 and what are you going to bring to life next?

put in the front fixed visor, this also has a working vision block holder, I took a picture through it , and it works quite well, I will start on the side vision ports next, once they are all in I will do the weld beads to the inside, this is what it looks like so far

Jeff,
You're going crazy with the detail. The visor is amazing! Wow! The interior of your 222 is looking really cool. I love all the brackets and holders. Super job.

Hi everyone!!
Jeff your 222 is like a car in a museum!!As usually it's perfect ( no word to tell the degree of details you can make!!) but just this little question: have you think about the electronics? Where you will put that?
Cheers

First I must thank all of you for the kind comments, this forum is one of my best building aids, when I feel that this is only a model, and why bother to much, along comes another bit of encouragement, and this gives you a kick start, and makes you try that bit harder, its like not letting your friends down; as to some of the questions, no not a jeweler Steve, I buy and sell antique weapons; Yves I am making this a static model, that is why I have so much room to play with

Jeff
