Not a great deal done today.
All the housings are now reamed and the hinge arms made and fit like a glove just have to cut them to size once the hinges are made.
I have an order of brass 5/16 round bar and flat bar so hopefully it will be here tomorrow or Thursday so I can make a start on the hinges.

Hi Jeff
Thank you for lovely comment and interest I have been banging my head off the wall for the last of mouths on how I wont to make them and decided lets just do it the old way (make it).

Take care and stay safe

Well its been 4 months from I had the chance to get into the workshop another house renovation done and dusted so I'm now free to get on with the 251.
The body work has been disassembled and primed with red oxide after checking everything fitted as is should.
I have made two new rear doors that overlap the rear armour plate .
After a great deal of research I am going to change the door hangers/ hinges from the one's I already made to original ones on the early 251s .
Im now waiting on some material to come and some research material from the tank museum.
Thats it for the moment.
Take care and keep safe.

Hi guys
Had a bit of time over the last two three days.
Played with the rear doors a small bit of trimming so they fit nice and snug and fit over the rear armour.
Took the rear end apart and got rid of the inside armour around the rear doors cut them down to make new brackets for the rivets
I also cut the hole for the hydraulic coupling
Take care and keep safe

Good evening gents
It's been a couple of months from my last post but now have a bit of time to get back into the workshop thank goodness.
The back end has been fitted twice to get it Squared off along with a lot of fine adjustment to the doors to get them to fit nicely.
Next job is to get the hinges sorted and the door hangers adjusted to fit.
Hopefully i will be able to get this done over the next few days.
Take care and keep safe all.

Good evening all

Well its been over a year from I had the chance to get back into the workshop and today was the day to get stuck back into the 251.
No building work done but lots of up scaling measuring stock for cutting/ milling and making the all important cardboard dies to check for size and fitting.
There are so many variables from vehicle to vehicle whth base workshop upgrades and crew / battlefield mods so its a case of picking the best information you can and rolling with it.

Take care and keep safe.

Hi Steve,

Stretcher looks great. Is it a kit or home made? Keep up the great work.

Hi John

The stretcher is from one of the Dragon figures.
I am hoping to get another three or four covers made to the same speck from a lady in Aberdeen.

Take care
